SIGNUP & LOGIN PROCESS - HELP SCREEN

You now need to be logged in to the website in order to see the Bookings page and, in due course, some other pages.

The process for signing up and then logging in is as follows:

1.    Click on the “Log in” button at the top of the page.

2.    Click on “Sign up” and enter the requested details to sign up by email or choose to sign-up with Google or Facebook.  Signing up via Google or Facebook is the easier option if you already have an account with them.

​

3.     Our website administrator will then have to approve your request to sign up.  When that is done, you will receive an email to that effect.

​

4.     Once you have received that email, you may Log in by clicking the “Log in” button at the top of any page.  You will know you are logged in if you can see your username rather than the words “Log in” in the Login button.

Where is the “Log In” button? / Am I logged in or not?

The “Log In” button is displayed at the top of each page of the website.  If it appears thus:

  you are not logged in.

​

If it appears with a username such as this:

  then you are logged in with that username.

How do I sign up?

Click on the “Log in” button at the top of any web page:

 

You will then see the “Log In” panel as shown to the right here.  Do not try to enter any details here, just click on “Sign Up” on the 'New to this site?" line.

 

You will then see the “Sign Up” panel as below:

Choose whether you wish to sign up using your Google or Facebook account (if you have one) or by e-mail and click on the chosen button.  Signing up with Google or Facebook will be easier for you if you have an account with them (one less password to remember).

If you sign up with Google or Facebook, then clicking on the button on the Sign Up page is all you have to do for now (assuming you are logged in to your Google or Facebook account, and if you are not, you will be prompted to do so).  You will then see a "success" message such as that shown below.

 

If you choose to sign up by email, you will see the panel shown here to the right.  Enter your email address and a password of your choosing, then click “Sign Up”.  Please check you have correctly typed your email address and take great care in typing your password as unfortunately there is no option to show you what you are typing!  You will then see a "success" message such as that shown below.

What does the “Sign up to this site with a public profile” mean?

Our web software allows users to set up a “profile” which can be public or private.  We are not intending to use this functionality, so it is of no consequence whether you tick this box or not.  You can change this setting at any time.

What happens after I've signed up?

If you have successfully completed the “Sign Up” process as above, our website administrator will receive an email letting him know of your request, so he will log onto our website to approve your request.  He will endeavour to do that within 24 hours.  Once he has approved your request, you will receive an email informing you that your request has been approved.

You may then Log In by clicking the “Log in” button and entering your email address and password or logging in with Google or Facebook if you chose that option at Sign Up.

 

Do not try to log on until you have received the email informing you that your request has been approved.

If you have submitted your sign-up request using an email address (whether directly or via Google/Facebook) other than the one you have registered with your Croquet Club membership, then our website administrator might email you to confirm that it is you before your request is approved.  If you are not identifiable from the email address with which you sign up. the website administrator will email you on that address to ask you to identify yourself.

How do I log out?

​

You will not be automatically logged off by the system (even after closing down and rebooting your device), so once you are logged in on any device, you stay logged in on that device until you choose to log out.  You can log out by clicking the “Log In” button (which will be displaying your username) and choosing “Log Out” (as illustrated here).

Once I have signed up, can I log in with either email or Google/Facebook?

If you signed up using your email address (that being a gmail or googlemail account, or an account with which you can log onto Google), then you will also be able to login with Google (without having to provide your email password).  Likewise with Facebook if you signed up by email with the same email address as you use for Facebook.

If you first signed up with Google or Facebook you will not be able to log in with the corresponding email address as the system will not allow you to sign up again with the same email address and so you will be unable to give the system a password.

Can I have more than one login?

​

Yes, in principle you can have more than one login, but I will want a satisfactory explanation from you to allow that as the web administration task will get more complicated if members have more than one login.  If you want to change your log in method, then you should ask me to delete your existing account so that you can then set up a new one with your new preferred method.

How can I change my login email address?

​

You are not able, yourself, to change the email address that you use to log in to the website.  However the website administrator can change it for you.  So if you want to change this, please email the website administrator on the address shown at the foot of this page with the new address that you want to use.

How can I change my login password?

If you want to change the password you use to log in via email to the website, then proceed as though you have forgotten your password (see next item below).

I've forgotten my login password!

If you have forgotten the password that you use to log in by email, then click on "Forgot password" on the Log In screen.  You will then be prompted to the enter your email address to request a password reset as shown here to the right.

You will then receive an email containing a link to reset your password.  The body of the email will be in the form shown here to the left, so click on the "Reset Password ......." button and you will get a "Reset password" panel such as that shown below right.  Enter and confirm your new password, click "Reset Password" and you will then be able to log in with your email address and your new password in the normal way.
