ASSOCIATION CROQUET
AC at Phyllis Court
Association Croquet (“AC”) is the traditional form of the game which was played by our Victorian and Edwardian ancestors. In more recent times, the simpler format, Golf Croquet (“GC”) has overtaken AC in popularity, particularly at Phyllis Court. However, especially within the last couple of years, we are seeing a resurgence in the level of interest in AC at Phyllis Court, with currently about 25 active players, more than double that of a few years ago.

AC is a very different game to GC and demands a new set of skills and tactical expertise. As for GC, we offer a number of competitions and tournaments suitable for all ranges of ability from beginner upwards as well as the opportunity to play socially. In particular there are “roll-up” sessions every Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. which offer a combination of social play and coaching depending on your requirements.

We are always keen to have more of our members playing AC, or at least giving it a go, and we have a number of qualified coaches who are eager to help you, so if you are interested please contact Paul Franklin.
